In this highly interactive 1-day, on-site workshop, we will dive deeply into the three tenets of leadership: Awareness (both self and situational), Perspective and Trust. With these, anyone can elevate their leadership skills. The challenge is to be able to draw upon these when the moment arrives. This workshop will provide the foundation for each of these principles allowing emerging leaders to be better prepared when the time comes.
Leaders must be both self and situationally aware. Self-awareness is a deeper understanding of your own strengths, areas of challenge, values and emotions. It enables leaders to recognize the impact they have on others and lead authentically. Situational awareness allows the leader to recognize when a situation arises and be able to act in the moment.
Perspective shapes how leaders perceive, interpret, and respond to situations, challenges and opportunities. We will explore the understanding of different viewpoints, empathy and relatability, and what factors play a role in why people think the way they do.
Trust is the foundation of effective leadership, it serves as the bedrock upon which positive relationships, collaboration and organizational success are built. We will dive into how trust plays a major role in building relationships, fostering open communication, empowering teams, promoting collaboration, creating a strong culture, and driving accountability.
Finish this sentence: “People don’t quit a company, they quit a…” Yes, we all know the missing word. Effective leaders and a collaborative culture are two of the best ways to retain great people. We’ll evaluate the culture, from a non-biased angle, to determine the things needed to improve in order to take your leaders and culture to the next level.
Customer Acquisition, Retention and Experience are critical to both a growing and maturing company. Using resources such as NPS and CSAT, we will dive into the Voice Of The Customer. This will provide data and direction of how current customers want to be served, which then drives your activity in customer acquisition.
Oftentimes an organization is “too close” to see new opportunities within their current processes. We will evaluate the current process and all its steps, understand if there is waste and inefficiency within, then determine solutions that will make the process most effective.
Jim has been fortunate to have held leadership positions at some of Western New York's most admired companies. He led inside and outside Sales teams at Ingram Micro for over 20 years. His tenacious work ethic saw him rise from entry level sales rep to Sr. Director of Sales. This is where he first started to understand the difference between a people-manager vs. leader. That experience helped land Jim at ACV Auctions (NASDAQ: ACVA) as Director of Inside Sales. At ACV Auctions, he took a small team of 12 in 2017 and grew it to over 200 by 2024. Jim had a front row seat to Buffalo's first "unicorn" and helped take the company from early start-up, through "Blitz-scaling" years, a very successful IPO and into the maturing company of today. During that time, he was shown tremendous trust by the C-Level team to create the best Inside Sales and Customer Service team in the industry. It was here where the idea for Leadership Training and Development was born. Given trust and inspiration, every leader and team can do extraordinary things.
